Title: FOOTPRINTS IN THE GRASS

|
Size: 34.75 W x 36.62 H
(unframed)
Story:
Left to itself, wild grass will grow, thrive, and die in unknown and unlikely places. For me the memories of playing in the grass, by a beautiful stream in the Russian River valley with my then two year old son, will always be vividly etched in my minds' eye. His tiny footprints gently creating billowy impressions, the tall grasses gently tickling his face as a warm summer wind blew, the symphony of sounds from the whoosh of the river, the birds singing and bees buzzing, and his Dad skipping rocks. I don't know that my son will remember that beautiful day, but for me I will always remember his tiny little footprints in the grass.
Materials:
Acrylic & fluorescent paints on heavy French water color paper, with gold leafed and painted inset, all resting on museum board with borders wrapped in vintage Thai silk painted and gilded and overprinted using a 16th century Pali wooden prayer book cover with Sanskrit writings, adorned at right with early 1800s Chinese Yuanbao tassel amulet suspended from a 7th century Han dynasty Eunuck Chinese coin affixed with religious wax collected from holy temples and monasteries.
